Problem :
Most wellness apps overwhelm new users with dense dashboards, streak pressure, and endless feature lists that quietly turn self-care into another source of stress.
Solution :
We designed Halcyon around a single calm entry point — one suggested ritual per day. Soft typography, generous spacing, and a muted palette keep the interface quiet, while gentle motion guides each session from start to finish.
Challenge :
The hardest part was balancing motivation with restraint. We replaced aggressive streaks with a forgiving progress model, so a missed day never feels like failure and people keep coming back.
Summary :
Halcyon shipped as a focused, friendly companion rather than a tracker. Early testers reported longer, more consistent sessions and described the app as 'a place to breathe' instead of another to-do list.
